As much as I agree with you redcow, do you ever say anything else?

We need to get a campaign under way and start getting behind him with positive posts. I don't mean loads of threads popping up because it will just noise up the fans of the other hms....much like the million and one Ash threads. And as much as I like her, I can't be going with some of the diehard fanatics and thread upon thread being posted by the same fms about literally nothing.

It's annoying but I know not all of her fans are like that and in fact, like us, are just trying to defend their fave hm...but you will always get the diehards that will post that she just smiled and therefore she must be a saint.....and some of our fans are getting accused of the same, but maybe inadvertently we're retaliating by doing the same thing.

I don't see the point in threads that appear with no real substance, unless we are defending or justifying a wrongdoing and trying to reach an understanding with the other fans about that misunderstanding.

The endless praising a hm for what they are wearing or smiling or some other stupid reason for starting a thread is annoying and creates animosity and negativity. No fans respect threads like these. And there's no point in retaliating by lowering ourselves to the same standard by putting up the same type of threads and end up antagonising those same fans that think that way in the first place.

If we are going to start a campaign, I think we should have this thread and another one up on the front page from now on as much as we can.... and make it a real positive thread with tributes and comical things he's said and done this past couple of months....we should make it happy and also worthwhile for the casual viewer or the secret Pete fans to pop in and see what a really special, not perfect, but good decent guy that Pete really is and why we all adore him, warts and all.

Ok JTW, I agree with all of that.

I will start by saying that Pete intrigued me initially, I waited to see how he developed as a character.

I think I first realised his goodness when Sezer, Imogen and Mikey were all shouting at Richard at once, (week 2), and Pete, who obviously has problem with expressing himself under normal circumstances, and in a stressful situation is all but struck dumb, stood squarely in front of Richard, you had to go through Pete to get to Richard.

It spoke volumes, unfortuantely it didn't make the hilights in any impact type way, but I remember thinking 'wow, that's what they mean when they say actions speak louder than words'

He did it again, he stood in front of Ais when Lisa was in her face after watergate.

Pete's actions have always said more than a thousand words.
