First time I think that's ever happened for that length of time and I've been with Orange for about 4/5 years.

My orange (freeserve/wanadoo) broadband was down for a few hours earlier, customer services number had a recorded announcement saying it was due to a fault on the orange mobile network? Do orange use their mobile network for connecting broadband customers? or is this a symptom of a wider problem?

They also suggested checking on their web site!!! When I connected via a "3" data card the orange network status said no problems, although with an updated date of June 2006.

I wonder if it's anything to do with the phone tapping business @ the royal household?

Im 02 and texted my girls Orange mobile just before 9pm and she got it with in 40 or 50 seconds so the 02 delivery report said. Last night text did take nearly 2mins to arrive to her mobile.

Now lets just wait and see who starts to demand compensation because they are too lazy to walk to a pay phone.

From what you are saying it sounds like a North can't call South and South can't call North situation, but I am in Sheffield and use O2 and I couldn't get through to my mates that use Orange at all last night and none of them could call or text any number from their handsets at all.

I'm not disputing what you are saying, but it didn't make too much sense (having said that I don't work with mobiles).

What I do know is that everyone I know with an Orange handset yesterday evening was pretty much carrying round a bricked phone for a while without the ability to use any network features at all.

I been texting from my 02 to my girls Orange number the night about 9pm and text has been taking 3 or 4 mins to arrive to her Orange. Yet she sent me a text and I got it with in 20 or 30 seconds. One of the reply text to her Orange mobile tane nearly 5mins to get to her mobile so the 02 delivery report thing said. I had this same prob a while agao when texting from my 02 to an Orange number. Dose 02 to Orange texing play up a very odd once in a while dose anyone know.

Orange pay as u go went down for 3 hours here in Manchester, would not send text, make calls or recieve. My nephews orange contract wouldnt make calls but could recieve them, after 7 o clock when the network went ok I rang customer services, they told me that 90% of orange customers were affected, the woman said it was a computer error.
