TPS is a service which removes your number from marketing lists. CPS (carrier pre-selection) is the service which you calls are routed through another company. If on CPS the caller display can still be free if, as previously mentioned you make a couple of calls a month through BT. You can do this by dialling 1280 before making a call. This one call will then go through BT. As with a lot of providers, there is always small print so make sure its read, some companies automatically upgrade their customers to WLR from CPS which means you lose your caller display service, BT line rental and in some instances you can even lose your number if it is a cable owned number!
