EPG Problem
yorkie100
09-08-2006
I have rescanned my Toppy a number of times in the last few months but never really took much notice of my EPG list as everthing worked fine.

But I now notice that ch 8 & ch 36 Xtraview are still in my list even though they disappeared months ago on my other boxes. Also I have 2 no ch 37's in my list, so my EPG is wrong. I have rescanned again but get the same result.

So the questions are:-

1. Is anybody else getting this or is it just my Toppy?

2. How do I correct the problem?

3. Any explanation as to why this could be happening? (any known bugs etc)

You can get to the delete channels menu by LIST - Options (red button).
One theory about channel 8 (probably wrong ) are you near enough to a Scottish Transmitter to be getting a signal from it as well as an English one. 8 is of course used in Scotland.
There is also a Channel Remover TAP; but I have not used it.

If I recall correctly channel scan is incremental - try a factory reset then rescan.

Thanks for the replies - did not know about the delete channels button so have learnt something.

But what do you actually mean by incremental?

Means they add on each time you do a scan rather than replace the existing ones. So you end up with duplicates. At least I think that is what was meant.

Edit so my theory about you being near Scotland was nonsense I presume; Sorry because I was quite proud of that little gem
