Do you have a problem with Orange 3G?
My mate's just got a K800i the same as mine, except I'm on O2 and he's on Orange.
We both use video calls (mine are free for the length of the contract, he has free video calls until September) and they can be quite amusing. Recently though his calls, both video and voice, have either been failing or dropping part way through or he's had missed calls register on his phone without even ringing. I know there was an issue yesterday where the whole network seemed to die, but this is seperate and has been going on for a couple of weeks now. Orange called him and advised him to turn off his 3G side of the phone by setting it to only connect to the 2G network and that that would fix the problem. It did, but it's pretty pointless him forking out for a new 3G phone with inclusive video calls for a few months only to be told the network's not up to it and he should stick to 2G. He's pretty unhappy about it at present and was wondering if anyone else had this issue or if they'd found a fix for it? |

He's still having this problem and finds the only way to make the phone usuable is to not use the 3G side of it and turn off 3G reception.
This was Orange's recommendation. Their 3G network appears to be totally unreliable and this was admitted by Orange staff! He's bought a 3G phone on Orange and it appears the network's certainly not up to providing a decent service and that Orange support staff know all about this. If you're thinking about buying a 3G phone I'd look to other networks, from what I've seen Orange can't handle it. My O2 handset (on their 3G network) has never let me down and has the best coverage of all it seems. |

The Orange 3G service totally disappeared for about 3 hours last Tuesday (edit: just saw this link (http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/...d.php?t=440104). Customer Services were engaged for all that time. I am very disappointed with the Orange 3G service. I admit I didn't have major problems when I lived in London but since moving to Wales I am less than impressed by Orange.

Comparing my mate's Orange phone to another mate's phone who's on the Three network, I can safely say that the Orange 3G network is much worse. Three seem to have much better 3G coverage than Orange and more reliability.
If you want 3G I would avoid Orange's network and look to O2 or Three for the time being. Those two appear to perform well for 3G signals. |

In my area i do not have Orange 3G Problems. When i got my N80 a few months ago i switched on UMTS only, so if there was no 3G signal, i got no signal at all (did not use dual mode) and i was always with reception, with the exception of deep inside big buildings (where 2.5G would only have 1-2 bars anyway)
