BT Broadband Talk down?
I have just got home and found the Phone light out on the Home Hub. I have the BBV dialtone, but cannot make a call.
The Configuration pages state that the BBV number is "not registered". Tried rebooting the hub to no avail, before calling BT Broadband Talk and ending up in India. The guy said to call Broadband Talk - I said I did and ended up wih you. He told me he has six or seven similar calls, and to wait 2 hours then try calling th ehelpline again, suggesting that the service is experiencing an outage. Anyone else having issues? |

Wish I'd read this earlier, I've been 15 mins finding out the same answer! I've had no end of problems getting Talk to work and only had it two days, so thought the fault was at my end. I was ready to shout at someone!
The guys at India would make me laugh if the lack of service wasn't serious. I went through the problem only for him to ask "so what is the problem'. I had the look like Tim in The Office on my face when Gareth had done/said something bemusing! |

Do you have to reconfig your hub once the service is back up?

Shouldn't think so - it's more likely a connectivity fault at their end than a software issue with the Hubs

Just thought - when i initially thought the prob was at my end, I entered my BBT passowrd in the hub config pages - it turned out to be shorter than whatever was there originally, and I don't know what that was!
Do you think this will cause me problems when the service comes back up? |

Typical, I have been sent a BT Home hub today and have been trying to set it up (to see if it is better than the 10V) and then I find out that the BBtalk service has gone down.

Someone said the first batch are due out at the end of August - obvioulsy those who ordered first will get them first. Dunno how that will affect me though - I ordered first day but it took weeks for them to admit I was due a free phone!

Do you think this will cause me problems when the service comes back up? I can call into my BB number, but not out from - it just gives me a unobtainable tone Can any one provide some advice to get myself up and running please? |

Sorted out the BBT problem - went into Advanced/Toolbox/Telephony on the Config and deleted the connection. Visited bt.com/bbv again and went through it all, and it now works perfectly!
