Sony 910 crash/reboot on synchro rec
SteveMcK

A few times recently I've seen failed synchro rec recordings with my (non-freeview) 910, and each time the synchro rec light has been off when I came home (even though I know it was on when I set things up).

For the first time yesterday I began to get an idea of what had happened. I used the A-B delete to trim stuff off a recording on the HD, then dubbed it to a DVD. Then I left it in synchro rec. As it happened I was watching it when the synchro rec signal (from a Sky boix) went active, and the 910 crashed (i.e. went through the recover/poweroff sequence).

It looks like something in the A-B trim and/or dubbing software is leaving the box unstable. Anyone else seen anything like this?

Hi Steve, it looks as though you're having a similar problem with synchrorecord to the one I'm having with Smartlink. See my other thread on this Sony say it's dodgy SCART connections, but I've tried several sets of cables, so it shouldn't be that.
