Want to go onto a contract phone

At the moment I am on O2 PAYG, with 300 free texts a month, but I am spending approx £20 a month on it. I have a samsung E350 just now. I have been looking at the Virgin Mobile Website, and have seen I can get a free phone on a contract for £20 a month, with 200 free texts and 100 free minutes, therefore I think this is the better option for me. I much prefer Virgin anyway, but only switched back to O2 for the 300 free texts on PAYG.

I have been looking at the blue motorola V3. What are people's opinions on it? Is it getting a bit dated now? Are there any other phones that anyone could recommend?

Thanks

You should definitely speak to O2. I have a friend with O2 who gets 750Xnet anytime minutes 750 txts and an E900 for £20pm.

Virgin just aren't that cheap.

I'd look at the tmobile flext plans too.

That would either be because:
(a) they are an existing customer on some form of old legacy tariff
(b) they were an existing customer and O2 tempted them to stay by offering them a preferential tariff
(c) They found that tariff was on offer to new customers by a different network and O2 offered to match it.

In short such a tariff is not normally available to new customers. The tariff you describe would normally cost £25 per month with o2 based on an 18 month contract and that would be based on an off peak tariff only.

I wanted to go on T-Mobile Flext but my credit rating isn't good enough so I got T-Mobile pay as you go and they said when my credit rating is better they will be able to change my account from PAYG to pay monthly, give me a free phone and keep my number and then after 18 months I can renew the contract or change back to PAYG. Just need to pay off some more debts and settle a CCJ.
