Richard Hillman will whip up a Coronation Street bloodbath this Christmas, according to the Daily Mirror today.
Now that his mother-in-law Audrey has discovered his true motives, Tricky Dicky turns his attentions to Emily Bishop, whose house he will inherit if she dies.
A few days before Christmas, all of the regulars are gathered in the Rovers to celebrate Maxine's mum Doreen's 50th birthday. Emily, meanwhile, is babysitting Maxine's son Joshua at her house. Richard sneaks out of the party and tries to frame badboy Aidan Critchley for the murder.
"Hillman befriends Aidan and gives him a bottle of vodka, which he spikes with some kind of drug," a source told the newspaper. "Just as the birthday cake is about to be cut in the Rovers, Hillman slips out and heads to the hardware shop where Aidan is completely unconscious.
"Hillman takes off Aidan's trainers and hat, puts them on himself before setting off to kill Emily - deliberately leaving a footprint in the garden soil.
"After breaking in, he shows no mercy and batters Emily with a weapon. But Maxine has decided to pop across the road to check on Joshua. When she finds the horror in her home, Richard panics and sets about her as well. But, cool as a cucumber, he then heads back to the hardware shop, replaces Aidan's trainers and hat and puts the weapon in his hand before heading back to the Rovers.
"Within the next few minutes Maxine's husband Ashley goes across to check if everything is fine. The scenes will be great. Richard is mortified when he finds out Emily is clinging to life. But the net is closing in on him for sure."
