I am just about to puchase a Technics SA-DX940 and i would like to know how to conect up a Minidisc, DVD player, Computer, Cd player all via there optical outputs to the optical in on the reciver? Will i need a optical switcher if so where do i get one?

Not sure if an optical switcher exists... if it did, it may reduce signal quality perhaps?.... I think the 940 has two optical inputs, so you'll have to decide which things to connect. I guess that DVD is the main reason (Dolby Digital Surround sound) and maybe a CD or Minidisc.. I know that technically the optical input is superior to analogue inputs, but I would think you only need digital from CD to MD to acheive best quality copies. As MD isn't technically as good as CD I guess it's ok to connect up via analogue inputs to the amp and not really notice any sound reduction... after all, the amplififer is re-converting all signals fed into it back to analogue when you hear them.
