Well I'm not Irish, but I go over there quite regularly. RTE stands for Radio Telefís Éireann.

I know they broadcast Neighbours, and I believe that they used to broadcast Coronation Street and Emmerdale until TV3 launched, and ITV switched the rights to TV3 because the have a big share in the channel. They currently broadcast EastEnders as well.

I'm sure somebody else will be able to help you more than me.

RTE means Radio Telefis Eireann.

As far as I know they have shown Glenroe, Fair City, Eastenders, Home and Away, Neighbours. TV3 another Irish station has Emmerdale and used to show Sunset Beach. I don't think RTE has ever shown any American soaps but I could be wrong, unless you count Dallas which they show in the mornings.

I forgot about Ros na Run, they used to show repeats on RTE1. This program is great, way ahead of the rest with controversial storylines, and most people don't notice because it is all in Irish!

RTE1 and RTE2 (previously Network 2) aired loads of international and homegrown soaps between them over the years. Here's a list of the one's that I can recall:

IRISH
Tolka Row
The Riordans
Bracken
Glenroe
Fair City
Ros na Run

ENGLISH
Coronation Street
Emmerdale
Crossroads
EastEnders
Howards Way
Casualty
Holby City
Doctors

SCOTTISH
High Road

AMERICAN
Peyton Place
Dallas
Dynasty
The Colbys
Falcon Crest
Knots Landing
Santa Barbera
Savannah
Central Park West
Melrose Place
Beverly Hills 90210
Malibu Shores
Second Chances

AUSTRALIAN
Home and Away
Neighbours
Sons and Daughters
The Sullivans
A Country Practice
E Street

NEW ZEALAND
Shortland Street

Oddly, the only UK soaps not to be picked up by Irish TV in recent years were Night and Day, Brookside and Hollyoaks. Family Affairs even airs on TV3.

We get all the crap channels, but not all of the "decent enough" ones. It's very difficult to get Five, for instance, no matter what platform you choose, and Sky viewers can't get Channel 4. The ITVs and BBC 3, 4 and News 24 aren't available to anyone unfamilar with the Other Channels option either.
