Hi all,

sorry to seem hopelessly hopeless, but I have been lent my partners ipod while they are away and asked to put music and videos on it...

I have loaded the ipod software onto my laptop, but I can't work out how to get the music onto the ipod....

any help gratefully received...

Also, it is a video ipod - can I put my own DVDs onto it? If so - how??!!!

Thanks in advance!

Insert a CD and you should get the option to add or convert or something to iTunes. Do that. Connect the iPod once you've done that and it should auto-fill.

Or File > add file to library from you comp when iTunes is open. I think they have to be in AAC format, so right click > convert selection to AAC if need be.

Sorry don't know about videos.

You can put video's on it, (on mac - don't know if its the same) by dragging your MP4 file from the desktop straight into your iTunes library.

Then upload it to the iPod just like a song.

You can put DVD's on it (i have did it with Family Guy Season 4 , however this requires the use of free software which is readily available)

Try reading the help files in iTunes, they tell you how to do everything you'll need to do.

you guy's are just great - I found the help files in itunes, so thanks Moisie, a huge help - can't believe I didn't find thm before, so sorted all the music side of things. (Didn't download automatically to the ipod as its not the main PC for the ipod - so its all manuel, but thanks anyway boozer3), have put a video clip on also - it asked me to convert it, so I did.

ntl:rocks - can you point me in the direction of the free software to get DVDs on to the ipod.

Thanks again all
