Mystuff versus JAGS/improbox
snick
20-08-2006
I currently have both JAGs and Improbox taps installed on my Toppy and I'm pleased with the performance/reliability.

However, I've been considering ditching these in favour of BobD's mystuff tap. Just curious if any others have gone down this path, if so, what are the benefits/disadvantages etc??
One function i'd like to have is a search facility - which as far as I know, JAGS doesn't have.

any thoughts/comments welcome.

Jag's does have a search facility - it was one of the first EPG taps to have it built in, in fact.

An alternative is to go for something like EPG Navigator, ImproBox and use UK Auto Scheduler for the searching, which is what I do.

I moved away from JAGS TO myStuff some months ago, very pleased with it, main benefit (for me) is the much nicer grid EPG, only thing I miss is being able to see what programs would match a word search without actually saving the search - not a big thing.

I've used JAGs TAP for the last year and found it very easy to use the only downside is the message very 6 months telling me its going out of date and having to renew the TAP. Because of this other options are becoming very attractive.

I moved from Improbox and Jag's to MyStuff a couple of weeks ago.

Apart from taking up less disk space, I love the new grid EPG - seeing an evening's worth of programmes for several channels rather than just one.

Highly recommended.
