Tesco Internet Phone/Daily Star Offer
I was just wondering if anyone had received the Tesco Internet Phone yet from the Daily Star Offer last month?
We've ordered 3, one for us, 1 for my Mum & 1 for my mother in law and none of them have arrived yet, probably won't use the Tesco Internet Phone service itself will probably just use the phone itself for Skype, just wondering if it was all just a big con for people to buy the newspaper! |

What was the offer? Wasn't the phone on offer in Tesco stores for £10 per handset not too long back anyway?

Yeah but I'd have to buy that paper three times to get the phone
![]() In which case a tenner is still my preferred option

I'm still waiting for two
![]() Apparently they had 10,000 to give away. When was that closing date again? Last edited by Mr Cable : 21-08-2006 at 04:04. |

Got mine on Saturday - connection and setup was really easy an it surprised me how quickly it was up and running and useable.
A few oddities in that it wanted to take over my sound had to go into Control Panel, sound and audio to the Audioplayback to my sound card! Also I'm getting an echo when I talk on it which is VERY off putting - if anyone knows how I can stop that I would be most appreciated. All in all for the cost a three newspapers and a stamp it was worth it (although I see they are currently selling the same thing for £9.98 reduced from £19.99. |

I'm still waiting on mine too, i'd have been surprised if over 10,000 people had applied for them
Feel better now though knowing somebody else has received one though, at least I know it wasn't a fake offer! |

I am tempted but I don't know enough about VOIP to know if it is worthwhile. We have just switched to Talktalk landline and broadband so I need to do the sums. I would appreciate comments and advice.

My Phone finally arrived today, having problems though grrr
Have made sure my router is forwarding the right ports, but its so weird, i'll logon (on the telephone internet phone software) and it'll log itself out again a few seconds later and say 'Unable to Connect to Network' If anyone can help i'd love them forever! |

Does the Tesco USB internet phone require the computer to have a sound card installed? Or will it work without?

So it will work without as the 'USB phone' is a soundcard, and this is why Windows tries and uses it for everything, unless you tell it otherwise, as Windows thinks that if you have added a new soundcard you want to use it. |
