No, they've never had one. I don't believe it's ever been discussed either.

No but we have a show like Clebrity Big Brother. It's called "The Surreal Life" and a bunch of celebs have to be in one house together for 2 or 3 weeks.

The only difference is they can leave the house but only to do things that the show gives them to do. Like one episode they made them go to a Nudist Colony for a day and play Volley Ball with the Natives.

They also have to be together at all times and they can't be voted out of the house.

I think "Celeb Big Brother: America" would be cool but I don't think it'll happen seeing as people barely watch the regular Big Brother in America. I was amazed at the Hysteria y'all Brits have about Big Brother. We don't have that here at all.

Adding an American Celeb to Big Brother, here, isn't gonna make it anymore interesting, especially since it would have to be a D-List celeb because we all know Brad Pitt isn't gonna do Celebrity Big Brother.

I really have to laugh at that, have you seen the celebrities the UK has??? D list is kind. The last one consisted of a shamed tv presenter trying to get some semblance of a career back. A has been 80's pop star that had some unfortunate plastic surgery, a couple of singers I'd never even heard of, looking for a boost in their careers. A non-celebrity, who won the whole thing, maybe the pity vote as she was so stupid!! An MP who slightly embarassed his party with his shenanigans. An older 70's actress, a topless model, oh, Tracey Bingham!!!!! The only one I didn't understand why he was there, was Dennis Rodman. What was going on with that???
I've seen the Surreal Life and it's pretty well just as laughably bad. The Brady Bunch kid getting married. Wonder how long that will last, did they invite Vern Troyer to the wedding? He was just a nasty little man, literally!!
I really don't think anything good can come from the celebrity shows. Let's face it, anyone good, like you said, is just not going to do it.

No, but there are plenty of D-list celebs living in LA, so it would be an easy thing to arrange. But as the previous poster had said, the US has the Surreal Life which is probably the closest thing the US will get to Celeb BB.

I think the main reason they won't do it is because in the US BB they are much more cut-throat and bitchy to each other because they can discuss nominations and the HM's vote each other out (not the public). I don't think most celebs would want to be seen with their claws out so to speak.

Also, unlike in the UK, most reality tv stars do not become famous afterwards. In fact, many of them do the reality shows thinking it will help them get into acting but then find that casting agents are VERY reluctant to cast anyone who has appeared on a reality show. So a D-list celeb could actually HURT their career by appearing on a show like this.

there WERE plans for a Celeb BB either last year or early this year. I read it somewhere.

But, obviously, nothing surfaced.
