Gosh I was shocked to see this conversation going on. Our 2 year old happened upon it, but as my husband and I were 90's europop fans we loved the music in this. We downloaded the cd and we play it for our daughter all the time. Love Robbie Rotten, something about his tight spandex costume!

"yar har fiddle dee dee, YOU ARE A PIRATE!"

"time to move, time to make it happen, 20 times time is here again!"

"no one's lazy in lazytown!

I can't believe you can buy a C.D of the music! OMG I have to get it!

To the poster who said there's no escaping it, its also on BBC2 and TMF:Noggin every morning. Thats as well as Cbeebies and Nick Jr

Interesting that there was a different Stephanie to start with, plus they changed the design of Ziggy after the pilot.

The original Stephanie left due to "union issues". She's older too, around 15. Why get teen to play a little girl?

Anyway, who cares. I love it!

My three year old daughter is obsessed with stephanie. She tries to push her body into the tv set when the programme is on and tells me she wants stephanie to come and live at our house. She moans about not being able to have pink hair, but I think santa is bringing her the stephanie dressing up set.
Could be worse role models i guess!

Any programme that a) has my three year old asking for applesand bananas
and b) has a fit bloke in tight trousers for mummy is alright by me. The episode with Sportacus doing all sorts of press ups had me drooling into my coco pops.

Don't laugh, but he's a really good looking guy in real life

I was quite shocked when I saw a pic of him.

I was going to say to say that only the other day I mentioned to my OH that I couldn't get one of the tunes out of my head. The one where the rich kid sings "It's all mine" I think it sounds like the sort of song you'd get in a stage musical.

But then it turned in to the lusting after Spartacus thread! .....hope your coco pops didn't get too diluted betty

My fave is "There's Always a Way".

Is it wrong to be 34 years old and think this is the best programme on the telly?

I'm gutted they've taken it off CBeebies (hopefully only temporary) - it's not the same on Nick Jr with it's cropped 4:3 aspect ratio.

But at least I've got them all on DVD (recorded from CBeebies).

They're for my 3 year old son! They are! Really!!!

My son loves this programme. When he's not being Fireman Sam, he is convinced he is Stephanie. Ask him what his name is, and he'll tell you he is Stephanie! (and I'm Robbie Rotten!)

I do kinda like Lazytown as well, always loved Robbie's comedy eyebrows!

Just been on IMDB, very shocked to see what Robbie Rotten looks like in real life - you wouldn't recognise him! And the dude who plays Sportacus is 42, not in his late forties!

I'm right there with you Nick.

It's odd, I spent all of my twenties disdainful of pop, eurobop, anything like that. If it didn't have a guitar and some arty, tortured lyrics then it was rubbish!

Now I'm kind of coming around. Perky pop suddenly works for me. I'm listening the most nauseatingly cute Japanese pop music and just adoring things like Lazytown.

So far I've only caught a few episodes, I rarely have the TV on in the morning, but this show really wakes you up and gets you moving.

This show is hilarious when you're pissed. I Sky Plus it when I can.

My favourite song is the "bake a cake" one.

Let me correct you there. It's actually cropped from 4:3 by CBeebies into 16:9. Note the black bars on either side of the picture.

That sounds scarily like me lol, for music, if its not Morning Musume, its Lazytown and vice versa!

To be honest I have never sat through an episode of it, because the second the music starts my two kids (8 and 4, both boys) fall over themselves to grab the remote to turn it over. They truely cannot stand it.

Rubbish!!! LazyTown is filmed in HD. Whoever heard of a 4:3 HD format?

Compare the opening titles. When Stephi's stood there with her suitcases she virtually fills the whole screen on Nick Jr. On CBeebies there's so much more on screen either side of her.

Take a look at the videos on the official lazytown website. They are all 16:9 ratio. Compare them with the CBeebies versions (I just have, cos I've got them all on my PC (for my little boy obviously )). They are absolutely identical.

But let's not detract from the fact that LazyTown is the best tv programme ever made, and even when it's cropped it's still fantastic!!!

Never use a messy recipe.
