Wonder if anybody can help me. Currently have a BT phone line which has been activated for nearly 3 weeks (recently moved house).
Bought another cordless phone yesterday and noticed that our phone line is quite echoy, can hear your voice back when you speak into the phone. Also noticed ever since we moved in that it is very quiet and sometimes it varies however the quality isn't as it should be. We have 2 cordless phones and both are the same, rubbish quality and echo's.
I logged a fault on the BT website which was fixed 3 hours after i logged it. The fault still wasn't fixed so I reopened the fault and got a call this morning. Told me basically what it said on the website, try unplugging everything etc, use a corded phone in the main telephone point.(In the garage) The quality was better, still echoed tho, however what good is it in the garage?!
I rung again this evening and got through to somebody in India who read off her script and said to try plugging it into the main telephone point again.
Any idea what the problem could be and how I can convince BT that there must be something wrong with the line?. They say they have run line tests however something must be wrong.
Thanks very much.
James.
