iPAQ issue
Received the new HP iPAQ 6915 - the one with Tomtom and built-in GPS receiver.
Problem is, i keep getting message "GPS receiver not found". I take it you have to have an active SIM card in for this function, but any thoughts on how to activate GPS receiver? Also, if i ask o2 to re-send the GPRS settings, will this help? Not sure if GPS and GPRS are the same thing. Thanks in advance

GPS and GPRS are totally different things.
GPS is Global Positioning System (I.E. Sat nav, TomTom) GPRS is General Packet Radio System which is the system mobiles use to download data over the mobile network. Sat Nav should work fine without a GPRS connection. I would go to preferences in TomTom, select GPS status then configure. This will give you a chance to 'specify your GPS hardware'. I guess you should try each of the wired options until it works. HTH

Nitram, thamsk very much for clearing that up!
I've managed to get this sorted, but the next problem is that the TomTom software seems to be dodgy. It thinks i'm a few streets away from my actual position, and is very inaccurante. Any clues, anyone? |
