Importing DVDs to Harddrive to covert to iPod Format?

I know how to convert DVDs to iPod format once they are on my Hard-drive, but is it possible to import them using DVD-shrink? When I do this I am left with about 20 separate files, and not sure what to do withthem all. Also, I only want the main feature, not worried about all the menus etc. so how do I get rid of them. If I can't use DVD shrink for this, can anyone suggest a good program to do this?

TIA

I have a program called Ipod to Video convertor, got it for about $20 off the net, but I am sure a google search will find a free solution.

I use Xilisoft convertor but this site gives some good links and information, just scroll down and it tells you about all the different programs

You CAN use DVD shrink to do that by using it's re-author function. You can then just select the Main title and untick all menus, extras, foreign soundtracks etc. You can also tell it not to seperate the film into 1gb chunks, which I think is the default setting, and just have the main film as 1 file in the resulting VTS folder.

Thanks for your help Hugh. I have tried to do this using the re-author function, and when I go into settings, the option to split files greater then 1GB is un-ticked, but still it seperates them!! It is driving me mental!! There must be a way of doing it, but I can't figure it out!
