ok so i need some advice

The phone rang and i said hello and no one was there, it was like an office where you could hear people walking about so i put the phone down and picked it back up and i could still hear the noise. So i pressed the button and the noise still happened

as i typed this the upstairs phone rang so i replugged in the downstairs phone as the upstairs one dosent work, and again it was like this person was there but hadent rang / was just there

So i've unplugged both phones and my internet ofcause still works as its the phones that are off

So please, does anyone have ANY idea. We cant do any outgoing calls on the landlines obviously

It can only be fixed if the person on the other end puts down their phone. However, its their phone bill which is being charged and it should not last too long (one lasted me 1 hour - annoying, but they eventually put the phone down).

Or was it an 070 number?

Some of those are 50p a minute if you're silly enough to call back and that's why they're used for the 'missed call' trick.
