Voipcheap calls no longer free

Voipcheap.co.uk have updated the call rates again, some countries are now free to call again, however the UK isn't one of the free countries now.

http://www.voipcheap.co.uk/en/rates.html

The * after the free to call countries now makes sense as well, 300 free mins a week only to the free to call countries.

Explains why i'm being charged for calling UK phones even though i have "freedays" left.

I'm finding this a bit confusing...

Just signed up to Voipstunt.com. No credit as of yet and have made a couple of call over 1 mins duration.

Can I assume this won't last very long unless I part with some cash?

On a fresh account you usually get around 20 mins of free calls to trial the service.

Thanks for that.

So, reading the above if I credit my account will I get charged for 'free' calls do you think?

Only wanna call the UK from the UK.

If you credit your VoIPStunt account with €10 you will get 120 days of free credit at 300 mins per week to the free destinations, after you have used 300 free mins to the free destinations in the week you will be charged at the low advertised rate usually 1c/min the next week you will have another 300 free mins. Once you get to 120 days you pay for calls at the advertised rate, if you top up with another €10 you get another 120 days of the 300 mins per week free credit.

This means even though you top up with €10 to get free calls, you can still use that €10 on any chargeable calls, a sort of win win situation.

Free call destinations:

Argentina
Australia
Austria
Belgium
Canada
Chile
China
Denmark
Finland
France
Germany
Hong Kong (+mobile)
Hungary
Iceland
Ireland
Italy
Japan
Liechtenstein
Luxembourg
Malaysia
Monaco
Netherlands
New Zealand
Norway
Portugal
Singapore (+mobile)
South Korea
Spain
Sweden
Taiwan
United Kingdom
United States (+mobile)

Marvellous!

Many thanks... I'm a bit late jumping on the VOIP bandwagon.

No worries.

The €10 has VAT added when you top up at the current German rate of 16% (Increases to 19% the end of the year).

Your account will have the credit and charges listed without VAT, so even though you pay €11.60 it will be listed on your account as the €10 and call charges deducted without VAT.

Calls to UK landlines remain free on voipcheap.com, but are 1p/min on voipcheap.co.uk.
Everyone over to .com!!

voipstunt and voipcheap.com are not very good for UK calls as they suffer from a 2 second delay which is incredibly frustrating

I've been using VoIPStunt for around 10 months and don't suffer from such delay, people don't even realise I'm not using a standard landline, other than to say how clear the calls are.
