Hiya!!

I have a few questions about a ipod video.

Most of the videos on my pc are mpeg file and 3pg file, can i put them on the ipod video?

Can i put dvd's on them, if so how? I have itunes and i'd like to learn how to do it now?

My pc dosnt have a cd/dvd'r will i still be able to use the ipod?

What is better the ipod video or ipod nano?

Thank you so much, i might be getting a ipod video for my birthday on 29th september and before i get it i want to know if its good or not.

We can't answer whether the Video or Nano is better, that's down to you.

Do you want to store 1,000 or 15,000 tracks on there?

Do you want something small or something bigger?

It's up to you. But, yes, they're both good.

Ok cool! I dont mind with the music, i think 1000 songs would be enough, but i'd love movies on the ipod aswell! thats why i'm considering the ipod video. But before i get one, i'd like to find out if its hard to put videos on the ipod nano's? I have around 50 dvd's and i'd like a few on the ipod video? Is this possible or do i need to get them from itunes (which i cant do as i dont have a credit card)

Well, i don't know how hard it is to put DVD's on the Video, i've never done that. Never felt the need, i find the screen too small.

Also, it's not possible to put videos on the Nano.

Oh, i think i will get a nano. They are smaller and i was reading on a few websites about the ipod video and it sounds kinda complicated. So i think i'll get the nano for now Thank you for you're help!!

I find the ipod battery is rather short watching video. only 2 hours. do you really want an ipod or an mp3 player?

I use winavi ipod/psp to convert my video, it's great.

Yes, using a custom operating system.

How many members of the general public are going to piss about doing that though?

I wouldn't get an iPod nano now. They are likely to replace it within the next few months. It came out last september.

Yeh, there are alot of reports (i know there are always 'reports') that an iPod announcment likely soon. However, it's been almost a year since the last major update too, so it seems plausable. Give it a couple of months.

in response to your questions about the ipod video:
the ipod video can't play mpeg or 3gp videos.you will have to convert them to mov,or mp4 for quicktime.

yes you can convert dvd's to copy to the ipod video.
you can use pqdvd to ipod video converter suite or ipod media converter.you can also use them to convert other formats like divx, mpeg e.t.c

i believe ipod video is better.nano sucks!

but to be honest with you,if watching videos and dvd's was more of a priority ,i'll rather buy the creative zen vision m.that is a better video player than the ipod.also the screen is a bit bigger.forget about the trendy ipod look.you want to watch videos so get something which does it better.it plays divx and mpeg files directly.i'll also rather convert dvd's to divx than to apples mp4/h264 since it is much faster
