the set top box!

Can anyone help me out here.
ive had homechoice now for 11 months mainly for the internet, Anyway for the past 10 months the blue light on the front of the stb comes on when i switch on the p.c or the tv sevice.
and off when the p.c off and tv's off!
anyway getting to the point the blue light stay's on all the time now even when the both above devices are turn off,
now i havent got a router connected so to me theres nothing keeping it switched on.
now this is been happening for the last month
i called homechoice about this and they say the blue light dosent go out and stays on all the time unless i switch the box off on the main switch on the top of the box itself, which it dose

so is this right or should the blue light go out when all devices are off?

thanks for any help

The blue light indicates a connection between your stb and the HC server, so it will stay on when the stb box is on.

im only asking as i got it in the bed room and of a night the whole room glows blue with it on as it used to go off as the sevices i.e t.v or p.c were switched off
the network lights were still on the yellow and green at the rear.
they only go off if i switched the box off but now for me to turn the blue light off i have to turn the box off aswell
when i didnt used too have to do this
so its like it hasent a standby feature no more

Just to confirm - the blue light *does* go out.

However, it does not go out straight away after your PC is switched off, it stays on for a while afterwards - presumably while the DHCP lease on the IP Address runs out.

As has been suggested above, try doing a full reset of the box...

That should do it.

When you switch back on check whether the light goes out after the red flashing. You can then switch on as normal...

pressing the power button for six or so seconds will not reproduce a blue light if nothing is switched on, out of interest mine stays on all night but as it is not in my face i not bothered
