Hi all

Wondered if anyone could help me with some research i'm doing at work.

We are working with a client who offers VOIP and Broadband Telephony as seperate products however I can't find anything which defines the differences between the two, can anyone explain this for me?

Thank you!

VOIP is a recognised technology, broadband telephony sounds like a legacy term to me. It could be a sneaky way for them to try and get more cash out of you by the sounds - for instance saying the broadband router is the broadband telephony end, and the calls themselves are VOIP.

Either way, I think they're trying to get more money out of you than may actually be needed. I'd go back to the company and ask them to explain the difference. You won't look stupid by asking this as I can't tell the difference either - I'd say instead you'll come across probably as a bit more business savvy. What you could do is write it down what they tell you, read it back to clarify you have written it down properly, then post what you've written on here. The good people on this board will then be able to tell you if it's a white elephant or not.
