We faxed in, seeing as the phone lines were stupidly blocked. But I have no way of knowing if they've looked at my fax.

I hate the bbc. I tried non stop from 8 to 8.45, then got thru!!! Then got cut off. Continued to try, at 9.20 got thru again - had 20 mins of a stupid message telling me they were busy and to call back later - ha ha, gave up at 9.40 and was an hour late for work. Fortunately my boss didn't see.

All my mates who tried also failed.

Fully booked, does that mean there's no tickets avaliable for the whole of the series?

I wondered if anybody here got tickets and looks like the answer is mostly no. I rang from 8 this morning and it was just busy ALL the time. A very stupid way to distribute tickets. At least if it was Applause Store I'd get some sort of allocation.

I phoned many times this morning, and finally at 4.30pm got through to be told.

Due to an unprecedented demand all tickets have been allocated.

The BBC will have to rethink their way of distributing tickets

0870 , that's a national rate. Didn't realise until I was ringing up Sky and the phone bill came.

I am completely shocked the ALL tickets are gone. That's 12 weeks!!!
I had no intention of attemping to get tickets but still shocked.

I have been lucky enough to go to previous shows (series 2 and 3). Although its not been easy getting through before and getting tickets, it has NEVER been anything like todays fiasco. I was lucky enough to get through about 9.30 but that doesn't mean that tickets are guaranteed!!! I knew of 6 other people around the country who were trying to get a ticket and not one pf them mananged to get through. NOT ONE !!!!!! and they all tried like everyone else constantly from 8 am. Personally I would be happier to apply in some way - maybe by ballot like Wimbledon - and pay for a ticket. The BBC could put all proceeds towards Sport Relief and I would have a definite, decent seat. Not like now when I shall trudge to London and take my chance in the queue. The BBC should remember its the public that have made this the succesful show it is - and should treat us the 'public' with some respect.

It was so frustrating yesterday. I rang from 8 a.m. to just after 11.30 a.m. continuously but only ever got the engaged signal. After that I had to go out and when I got home tried again and was told that all the tickets for SCD had gone

Well done to those who managed to get through and will hopefully get tickets. I do think that a different system should be put into place before next year's show.

Like Tallulahcancan I have applied for tickets before (series 2 and 3) and it has never been this difficult before, last year my mum rang up as they were released and got straight through and same with the year before....even if we get the tickets we still don't have the guarantee of the seat in the studio....I'm not getting my hopes up that I'll get a ticket and even get in to the studio

Sorry to all those who didn't manage to get tickets

I agree - a Wimbledon ballot would be the preferable way to do it. We had 6 people phoning from 8am (some with two phones!) and not one of us managed to get through. If, on the rare occasion, we did get the switchboard we'd get cut off . It really was a very daft system.

Just out of interest how many people managed to get connected via a mobile phone and how many via a land line?

I got connected using a landline after being cut off several times before. It took me less than an hour to get through and I was calling at about 13.30. It seems there was no logic at all as to who got through and who didn't - really not a very sensible system at all and a lot of disappointed people I fear.
I did get on the list for tickets but we'll have to wait and see how many people who were on the lists for tickets actually get them and actually get in.

I got through on a mobile and so did my friend, just by re-dialling. It was only the once I got through to the switchboard and cut off, the majority of the time it was just the engaged tone.

We tried a mobile and land line simultaneously. Never got through on the mobile, but got through on the land line about 10 times only to be cut off every single time. I don't mind not getting through, but it is really frustrating to think you have finally got somewhere and then be cruelly cut off! I know this isn't the end of the world, but it was really annoying!

Agreed. Yesterday was awful.

I don't understand why they don't just take online bookings like they do for all their other shows.

They don't care. All the BBC need is an audience. They aren't bothered who is in it. So there is no incentive to them to offer a "fairer" system.

Reading this thread I don't feel so bad now that I completely forgot yesterday was "ticket day" - since it looks like even if I had remembered, I would not have got them anyway

Really poor show by the BBC. There also seems to be an assumption that none of us work!! Really difficult to obtain tickets via the current system. Tried yesterday morning from 8 till 9.25. Late for work. Very late. Tried various points throughout the day via my mobile. No joy. Very difficult to do when we are trying to do the jobs we are paid to do, at the same time.

Extremely frustrated and extremely annoyed. Terrible system.

Well done to all of you who got through though.

yeah, I agree re the beeb - I think we should all boycott it, not give them an audience etc etc

ok, being silly now - couldn't not watch it! But maybe if no studio audience turned up....

I also feel happier that I didn't get tickets

I know that would save a lot of hassle, and besides how hard would it be for them to do that, they do it for x factor

Because they probably don't want the BBC website taken down by demand from ticket seekers, or maybe they want to stop automated applications to keep them off ebay, etc.

There are ways around that (word verification being the simplist).

And clearly their phone system couldn't cope with demand either!

The BBC do not issue Priority Passes. This is a stupid system that was invented by another audience services company.

But they will assist people who have mobility issues and so on.

And you could always take folding chairs. SCD has a cloakroom (as the audience are in shot and it keeps the studio tidy). You could leave chairs with them.

thats true, but as has already been said, they need to find another way to cope with the demand, because the phone system was quite a difficult way to book tickets. I tried till 1pm and finally got through, but it was exceedingly difficult
