Which Cables are best
I have just bought a Sony KDL-40V2000 (yet to be delivered but looked good in the shop) I have a standard SKY+ box and am wondering what the best connection cables is, do I just use a standard SCART lead or will the SONY support something better? I don't know much about this kind of thing.
Does the standard SKY+ box support any other type of connection? When I move to a SKY+ HD box I assume it will have an HDMI Socket on the back. |

A decent quality SCART lead that has each core individually screened is all that you'll need with Sky+. Remember to set your Sky+ to output RGB (if it isn't already set this way). You are correct in thinking that you will change to connecting by HDMI when you get yourself a Sky HD box.

Which cables are best
I've also got a Sony KDL 40v2000 and a regular Sky + box and the pictures are average and not what I'd expect. I'm using a £20 gold plated 1.5 m scart - is anyone else experiencing average picture quality - do I need to invest in a higher spec scart lead?

Channels on sky seem to broadcast on varying quality on dif channels.
To test a scart lead try a good dvd - e.g any of the newer starwars films. QED are one of the best scart manufacturers £20-30 and get 5 stars from main home cinema mags |

SONY has arrived and the picture is superb, I bought a good quality flat SCART cable but have found it does not lock in the socket and falls out at every opportunity, beware of these.

Hi i have just recd my 40V2000 and have a Sky+ box. I sometimes get good pics while other times it looks a bit blurry on the background scenes but i have been informed that it all depends on the sky channel you watch because they broadcast with different bitrates which can affect the Picture (whatever that means).
Anyway, i was wondering what set up you have choosen for each of your picture settings. there are so many of them, i wondered if anyone had yet found the best set up with a sky+ box. |

A few years ago I paid around £100 for a scart lead for use with my Sky+ Box. I only have a standard definition 32" TV and the picture quality is fantastic with the cable. Almost looks like HD.
I've tried it with cheaper scart leads to compare, and there is a big difference. |
