Isn't it about time the BBC found a new compere for SCD? Bruce in his day was a fairly reasonable entertainer but now he's past his sell by date.

He mumbles his way through the show, badly reading the autocue, telling pathetic jokes and using the same stupid shuffle for every dance which he decides to brag about being able to do....

Give it a rest BBC....... Find someone younger and more entertaining.

Graham Norton, Ant and Dec, John Barrowman, Jamie Theakston and Philip Schofield would all be better!!

Anyone else got any thoughts on this?

Well remove Ant and Dec , and Jamie Theakston from that list and maybe you have something , but Bruce is part of SCD now .

Maybe he needs a more professional co-host , although I do like Tess.

OMG none of those people are anything like the legend that is Bruce. He can present it for the next 20 years and I'll be thrilled.

Better the devil you know! I'm sure there are those who would do it better such as Ben Shephard. and I think Graham Norton does a better job with SDF but there are a lot of so called presenters who are too full of themselves.

He's not that bad! As for Tess, I know this isnt a popular viewpoint but I preferred Natasha - she asked interesting questions rather than just saying - 'How did you think that went...........good comments......bit harsh'.
I dont mind her but she can be a bit iffy -always looks lovely though!

Oh yes! I totally agree with everything you said about Bruce. He is so passed his sell by date. I really can't see why people think he's a 'legend'

I think Philip Schofield would be good, but he's done that ice dance thing so can't see him moving across. I think someone with some dance experience would be good. Someone like Anton, if he wasn't one of the pros.

Like Bruce, you mean? He's a song and dance man by trade.

And doesn't he remind us at every oppurtunity? Those tap dances are just spectacular....not.

Personally cannot stand the mans presenting style, don't care if he's classed as a presenting legend or whatever, I think he's terrible.

To be fair, in my opinion, American tap (the style Bruce does) is pretty uninspiring in general.

I think it's getting harder for Bruce. He does seem to struggle with autocue now. But he shouldn't take all the blame. I'm sure he doesn't write all of those terrible jokes himself.

I respect him. And I think he does a good job.

Am I the only one who isn't anti-Bruce?

I like him, but I can see how he wouldn't appeal to everyone. But then again, neither would anyone they might replace him with.

(On a slight tangent, my mum has a problem with Tess Daly. 'I can't watch her, her eyebrows move too much', she says.)

I manage to cope with Bruce by swift use of the mute button. As soon as the couple gets to him, when he's about to crack a joke, zap. Wait for a few seconds, then back on again as he turns to the judges. This routine has kept me sane for 3 series.

I wasn't into Tess until she started on SCD. But I think she does a great job now, and she one of my favourite presenters. And she's married to beautiful Vernon! She can do no wrong. Except yoghurt ads perhaps.

I dont mind him -jokes are absolute mince, mind you.
Tess's eyebrows are always going crazy - I sdont find her very charasmatic!
However, I have decided I will refrain from slagging them off to much -no doubt I would be complaining if they changed presenters or judges

Bruce is great and he adds much needed character to the show. Look how SDF seems like just another talent show

ISTR Brucie bombed at the start of series 1, but then changed scriptwriters or suchlike.

I'm 50/50 about him.

Agree that John Barrowman would be a good choice though he'd be getting stretched pretty thin given that he's been filming and/or appearing regularly on about 6 programmes in the past year.

Yea but to be fair, he is classed as the major 'star' of the show and people think of him as a tv legend lol, so if he didn't want to say a joke because it was so utterly awful I'm sure he could get his way no problem.

I don't much like Bruce Forsyth - I cringe at most of his 'jokes', but I can't imagine anyone else doing presenting SCD now.
I quite like Tess, and even she seems slightly embarrassed by Bruce Forsyth's jokes sometimes.

I dont really want to do the whole bruce bashing thing again this year but i wish they would just give graham norton the job! they've seen how brilliant he is presenting Maria, why on earth bring bruce back over him?

Graham Norton is probably a bit too 'controversial' for SCD. I like him, but I don't think he'd really fit with the 'good clean family viewing' thing that SCD is meant to be.

Brucie has been known to make the odd risque jokes, and Graham has kept it very clean while doing maria

Oh, I know, and I agree with you on Bruce's jokes(although to be fair, Graham has made some slightly off-colour jokes during Maria), but Graham is probably more generally seen as being risque.

I do like him, both on Maria and SDF, but to me it doesn't seem like he'd really fit with SCD's image.

Nooooooooooooo

He's been on way too much lately. I'm not over keen on Norton either, but at least he doean't try to steal the limelight at every opportunity like Bruce does...

I just don't understand why people think he's a legend!

Graham has been fabulous in SDF and A Problem like Maria....

If ever there was a SCD Presenter in waiting, my money is on him.

Roll over Bruce, your time is up....

Yeah and we'll have to sit through it all again this year!!

Perhaps we should run a book (or a thread) on how often he shows us his sloppy shuffle...
