Cracked iPod Nano!!! <Please Help!>

I guys!

I really need some help! I accidentally cracked my iPod nano's screen this weekend. There's definately a crack and the LCD screen is all mucked up - it has funny colours on it where it is cracked!

I've had the nano since January - so 7 months and bought it in the USA!

I really wanted to know where I can get it repaired and how much it would cost!

Thanks very much and the faster the replies the better!

I suggest you do a web search of i-pod repairmen but as for cost I really wouldnt like to comment

hmm, youre in warranty, do you live near an apple store? You wont be able to phone apple, as you only get 90 days phone cover, but you could try taking it to a apple store, as they may just give you a new ipod.

Chris, why would they do that when the OP broke the iPod himself?

The warranty covers defects caused by the manufacture of the iPod, not by some fool standing on it (or similar.)

^^Agreed^^

Probably cheaper to buy a new one than a repair.

A better option would be to send it in to Apple, they will have a look at any problem and decide whether it's covered by the warranty (not likely) and how much it would cost if you want to get it repaired.

If they quote too much, I suggest you wait a few weeks (Apple is reported to be holding a special event on the 12th September - Next Tuesday where a new iPod nano could be introduced) and then consider purchasing a new one.

I was given a broken Ipod video.

Filled out a form on Apple's site, tapped in the serial number and a box was sent from Holand with 2 days to put it in.

Apple sent me a brand new unit and had it within another 2 days.

Fair point, i dont see apple giving out lots of new ipods this way, but i remember when the nano i read about people getting replacements due to weak screens, which may still apply today.
