Has anyone had one of these HD DVD recorders?

I have got the Liteon 5025 with 80Gb HDD and DVD recorder, is that the one you mean?
If so I think it is excellent. Really easy to use and extremely versatile. If you are planning on getting one then I reccommend it. I did read a rumour somewhere here that Currys are currently selling the 5045 for the same price (same machine but 160Gb HDD), would be worth checking it out.
Actually if it's true I think my 5025 could suddenly develop a fault.

yep thats the one. I have managed to get it from play.com for £139. they are selling the 5045 for £169, but as I already have sky+ i decided 80gb was enough.

I was getting concerned as I could only find reviews for the 5045, these were great reviews, but a few of them made references to poor early firmware and I was concerned that they meant the 5025.

if you have one and are happy with it, then at least I know they work ok!

Does anyone know if it is possible to copy divx movies from dvd to the HD and then play back from the hd?

No problem. Hope you have many years of fun with it.
I think the firmware problems were with other Liteons, the reviews I have read all stated that the 5025 was something of a turning point for Liteon.

Your other query re DivX, not sure I've never tried it. I went to the trouble of burning the DivX disc, but I can never find anything worth having on DivX. Perhaps I am looking in the wrong place.

svp.co.uk and eBuyer are selling the 5025 for £130. I am considering buying one.

It is a good machine, and at £130 a steal. My advice, for what it is worth, is get one.
