was watching Braniac: Test Tube Baby yesterday, it's not the only show it has done it on! on occasions the picture on my Samsung LE26R73BD seems to flicker on and off quite fast, in the same annoying way it would if someone is turning a torch on and off. It did it mainly when it went to the competition question, anyone know why this is? It's also done it on a couple of adverts in the past, I remember 1 of them been the pringles ad. This is just 1 of many faults I have picked up on regarding LCD's and it's not on, espeshially when you pay £800 upwards. If anyone knows of what is causing this, please let me know, Thankyou.

Sounds to me like its not a broadcast problem. I had a display that did a similar thing from new. It appears that the display circuits are being overdriven and hence overloaded. Does it do this with standard UHF from your normal antenna, if so Id say return your lcd to whoever you bought it from under warranty. If it only does it while viewing your sky+ or freeview box check the output from this box [in the manual] and compare with the lcd specs [in the manual]

Just a matter of elimination really. But one of your items is faulty!.

Hope that helps a bit!

Is the brightness flickering or the Tv going on or off..? if it's the brightness the simple test is put the display settings into movie mode and see if this stops it..?!? If it does then the problem is dynamic dimming and this can be switched off in the service menu..! (It's been well discussed with the samsang thread!)

(It was one topic down from this one)

Engineer menu is:

Power off> Info> Menu> Mute> Power On

(Do not touch the "calibration" options in the menu, DONT - it requires a specific signal at a specific resolution that will turn to "FAIL" if you start it, and there is no way to reset, so write down any original settings if you change them - I found out the hard way).

Mine does a similar thing (min'es humax not samsung). In fact I took mine back and got a replacement. Now it does it when I set the screen to subtitles. It's very odd.
