Girls Aloud - Sound Of The Underground

This is the first single from the Popstars - The Rivals female band. I think it is very poor, and am really suprised that this is the first release.

I don't like all this 'manufactured' rubbish but think that the HereSay song 'Pure And Simple' was a lot better.

I think both songs are very poor. I think the girls one is better than the boys which is just bland. But neither are great.

The girls one is miles better than the boys one.

It is passable, for a song of this nature, but anyone who wants to save British music, should buy the Death in Vegas single this week.

the chorus sounds just like something else. It's been nicked.

Sadly, I can't quite think where from.

i think the girls one is quite good nice funky sound to it perfectly listenable though by no means great, i had hoped they could do better and the boys one is just plain awful

The girls song is very 'street' IMO, ehcne the rough image and style. The boys single is far more MOR and aimed at a wider audience. Therefore, as I like catchy, inoffensive, harmonius pop songs, the boys single gets my vote!

It has hints of "Scream if you wanna go faster" by..er Geri Halliwell - esp the SIYWGF verses.

To be quite honest both are crap and should be banned from the charts.

Out of interest, did the Bee Gees ever release Sacred Trust and if so how high did it get up the charts?

At least SOTU is not a cover (as far as I recognise)

No I think it was just a 'filler' on a recent album.

I hope Avril Lavigne beats both rival bands to no 1 with 'sk8r boi'. Wouldnt that be great. I doubt it'll happen though.

My parents seem to think that Clif Richard will suddenly appear with a song before next week and launch to the No.1 position. I dont see that happening.

The problem is with these 'manufactured bands' is that they aren't given any good songs to sing. They're all either remakes or, to put it simply, aren't good.

Cliff Richard writes his own songs too.

He has a lot of free time on his hands, (celibacy and being a vegetarian), you would think he might come up with something decent every five years or so.

Girls Aloud's song WILL be number one. Its a brilliant song!

Avril Lavigne is my idol though, and it would be cool if she got to number one!

I think she'll get to number on with her next song "im with you" That song and the video is brilliant! Avril is the definition of cute!
