recovering programs from a failed dvd recording
Hello
i reciently archived some programs to a dvd-r using my all new daewoo dvd recorder/hd recorder.... its great..... model DHR-8100P except this time i recorded 6 or so small programs and in this case when i pressed stop on the last one it took ages (5 mins+) on screen to confirm...(norm about 5 secs) when it hads finished it said no programs recorded...3 mins left damn i thought.. is there any way or recovering the "lost recordings" ps i erased the original recordings from my freeview box ....and yes the disk shows that the disk is almost full i have since finalised it and tried to view with ISO buster have`nt a clue of what i`m doing with it... ![]() can anyone recomend a program/method to recover my programs.... thanks you guys

Have you tried putting the DVD onto a PC, and using Windows Explorer to see whether you can see the files themselves on the disc, even if your Daewoo DVD recorder is not recognising them as DVD video files.
If you can see the files (VOB files?) can you then watch them on the PC using Media Player or Power DVD or similar? And if you can watch them, can you then use something like TMPGEnc DVD Author to rip the VOB files and turn them into MPEGs, which can then be re-authored as DVD files using DVD Author or similar? |

I have one of these machines. The one with the VHS built in Constant failed recordings on the dvd. Very fussy in what disks you use. Ended up using Maxell RW ones and even then a lot of break up in the picture on playback. Pity as it did clean up the rubbish picture on Uk Gold quite well. Would not advise anyone to get a Daewoo. I even put the new firmware on it to make it more "Compatible" with other makes of disk. Daewoo insist that there were no problems with the machine. Relegated to the bed room now and got a Panasonic
