Anyone using a TF5800PVR with a wireless video sender device??

Hiya

Took delivery of my new TF5800PVR today and am looking to buy an AV sender so I can watch programs from the TF5800 in another room.

Anyone using one of these?? any tips as to which AV sender works with the TF5800 would be great.

Reason I'm asking is I seem to remember there being an issue using a telewest cable remote control via an AV sender as the remote control didn't work over infra red or something. Just wanted to check what the deal is with the TF5800 so any tips would be great!!!

cheers!!

As you now own a toppy, register on

and ask on there. I'm sure there is a thread about it.

I use a cheap and ( not so) cheerful Matsui Video sender with my toppy, and it works Ok (ish)
the only problems i have with it are;
interference with wireless internet, as it usues the same 2.4Ghz freqeuncy it as it usualy knocks out my wireless internet conection.

Microwave oven - again microwaves use the same 2.4GHz freqeuncy to cook food, so when the microwave is on the picture is unwatchable.

other possible conflicts could be hands free DECT phones ( land lines) again 2.4GHz and any other device on that freqeuncy.

Apart from that everything works as it should, including the remote control link, which is via a little thing on a lead from the sender.

I use an AEI Digisender, purchased from Argos £79, I see its dropped to £69. I tried cheaper gear but they went back. Its perfect, no noise at all (unless the Microwave is on...but you wont overcome that at any price). Responds as the box itself to the remote. Highly recommended.

I too use an AEI bought from Argos some years ago. There can be some slight interference from my Wi-Fi network but I have not tried swapping channels on the videosender (choice of four) to see if I can reduce this.

One oddity though. If the videosender transmitter is turned on then it seems to interfere with the remote control for the Topfield. But only when being used direct. When used from the remote TV via the magic eye there is no problem.
