So I've been away travelling for four months and come back and I can't seem to get away from articles of her slagging off pretty much everybody.

I hear she's had a number one single (who hasn't nowadays.)

I kinda hate her already!

She's very popular on this here forum as there's at least 2 Lily Allen threads created a week.

She's the 'chav' daughter of actor Keith Allen (soon to be seen playing the Sheriff of Nottingham in the BBC's new Robin Hood). The whole chav act seems more like a marketing ploy than anything else, even if she is a chav herself they're obviously playing on it a lot more to increase sales.

Some gobby talent light publicity seeking chav I think.

She will soon be yesterday’s news.

Shes friends with Bez from Happy Mondays. For some reason i think of her as putting the chav thing on just because of this. Of course, thats a total generalisation and stupid lol.

I think her music's awesome, shame she feels she has to slag loads of people off. Though apperantly she never spat on Peache's Geldof's shoes at that festival like everyone said she did

She's some non-chav posing as a chav who sings middle-of-the-road songs which are catchy to some, bordering annoying to others. She slags people off in order to remain in the spotlight.

She'll have one or two albums then be gone, of course.

She's had a spoilt middle-class upbringing, this is in the very truest sense means she can't be a "chav".

She's just some silly little cockney rich-girl playing at being "street".

It's sad that we have reached the age when the kids of 'celebs' are now getting famous themselves, a la chavvy Allen and Peaches Geldof. I can't stand the adult versions, never mind the offspring. I disliked Lily Allen for no apparent reason, now I realise who she's related to, it makes sense. Who next? The brats of Jonathan Ross making a documentary for Panorama? Ruby Wax Junior reading the news? What rubbish we put up with in the name of entertainment.

I can't STAND her music... I hate her Mockney accent. Not only is she pretending to be cockney, she also sounds like she's trying to sound black.

Also, there seems to be a reggae vibe to her songs so far and I find it REALLY annoying that they have chosen to have the guitar parts slightly out of tune... listen to that song that was number 1 (the one that goes "I smile, I smile") You can hear this faux-detuned guitar and this suggests to me that the producer thinks reggae artists can't afford good music gear.

Everything about her music is false and the quicker she goes away the better. IMHO.

Even a cheap guitar can be tuned properly.

My guitars are very basic and inexpensive but they stay in tune for ages.

Good quality guitars are far cheaper than they used to be - you can get an excellent quality guitar for quite a reasonable amount which is probably made in China.

There's no way he'll be as good a Sheriff as Nickolas Grace was in the 80's hippy version of Robin Hood

I saw her on Russel Brand last night, she actually spoke without her fake cockney accent & sounded much better. Wish she'd get rid of those disgusting dresses and trainers

I'm still perplexed as to why anyone on here calls her a chav as she's a public school educated trustfundafarian daughter of a millionaire.

Even more perplexing is her and producer/dj Mark Ronson becoming an item. I know he's produced some of her songs and i believe he's her live dj now but i would've thought he could do better than her as a girlfriend due to the fact the parties he dj's in New York and London are attended by A list models and tons of stunning it-girl socialites.

No, that's just it. She's not a chav but she's coming across as one - Kind of like how loads of indie bands used to come across as "working class" men who lived a "hard life" when they were middle-class public school boys!

Surely Alan Rickman was the definitive sheriff of Nottingham. "I'll cut your heart out with a spoon."

It's all down to personal preference I suppose
