been getting busy since 8am but just got through to 'being put through to next available operator' ... only for it to cut off. it would have been so much more sensible to have done online booking tho I guess they think people would ook and not turn up if they made it easy.

Keep going - I've just got through and I'm on the list for tickets for Dec 2nd. Not quite the date I was hoping for I wanted early shows so I definitely got to see Vincent and Flavia dancing but at least I've got a good chance of going. Most dates are now on a waiting list but there are a few that are still taking ticket requests!
Don't give up - keep on trying!

this is crazy, the bbc obviously were not prepared for the popularity, have just read somewhere that 150,000 people phoned in the first half and hour and that drove the system mad

and I got it again

It goes through switchboard, says I'll go to someone and then they basically hang up.

maybe next time they can stop the celebs and celeb kids that are not at all involved in the show from stealing our tickets

I had been trying since 8am and didn't even get to the menu until 5 hours later..after a further hour of getting through to the menu and then being hung up on I finally got to the queue..I was then on hold in the queue for half an hour before I finally got through. All tickets have been allocated now apparently, but you are still able to get on reserve lists.

What an absolute joke! A big hug goes out to everyone who is still trying as I know how frustrating it is!!!

I can't remember what I was told was just so pleased not to be hung up on and speaking to a real person...does this help??

"Once we have received your request we add your details to a waiting list. Then if you are successful you should expect to receive your tickets approximately two weeks prior to the show date. " BBC tickets website

So it doesn't look like anyone is guaranteed a ticket that everyone is out on a waiting list and they then dish them out. I have gone before and I think I'm right in saying you are told you have been put on a waiting list then hopefully most people get tickets then it's a matter of hoping you get in!!

Hope this all helps

Think there is a difference between waiting list and reserve list though

From what I was told there is a difference between waiting list and reserve list because I was told I could go on the reserve list for the dates I really wanted or be on the waiting list for December 2nd.
I went for being on the waiting list and she said to be that she'd entered my request for tickets and if I was sucessful I'd get them in the post 2 weeks before the show.
If I went on the reserve list she said it would be to wait for cancellations from people on the waiting list.
I hope that clears it up

Just got through and they now have this recorded message saying that SCD is fully booked so don't bother holding .

Thanks for clearing it up...I still can't remember what I was told I hope it was the waiting list option...I also thought I would just post the fact that if you are still trying to get through they now have a message saying something like "due to an unprecedented response this event is now fully booked."

Keep smiling

EDIT: oops didn't see Buszy Bee's post sorry

Does everyone know when it starts? Well if you don't it's October 7th - just before Robin Hood begins, and also the day BBC1 gets a new look. The final will be 22nd December - so the X Factor final wont clash this year

Think everyone probably does know as most of us have been trying to get tickets all day...!

ok, so well done all you lot who got thru and may have tickets.

I didn't get thru, so I can only go on my experience on previous years - things may have changed. In the past you got a ticket but had no garentee of entry - has that changed? I have queued outside the beeb from about 2pm onwards to ensure I was at the front of the queue and got in. It is worth it as it is awesome seeing it live. But unless they have some new system of garenteed entry if you spent all day phoning up, don't waste the oppourtunity - get there early to queue.

Take a folding chair, and if its winter, warm clothes. They have a cloak room and you can get changed once inside.

Good luck and keep us posted!
