Hi - newbie here 
A litle under a year ago I purchased this little bit of kit as a replacement for our VCR that was dying a death - it seemed like a good time to upgrade to a DVD burner.
O, folly!
If only I'd spent a bit more time doing some research. It seems that this model is quite a bit poo, actually. So after several hissy fits, a mammoth search for a firmware upgrade (thanks for the info Digital Spy - you're great!) and the loss of several hairs (pulled out buy me!
) the situation is this - for which I could do with some advice:
The timer record function seems to get stuck after the first program has been completed. I.E. if two timer events have been created that have a time period between them (anything from a minute upwards), the second event will not record. This is due to the system attempting to wite file/ produce a menu. The DVD then hangs up and will not unlock until the power is disconnected at the mains - not easy to do between events if you are out for the evening!
So, apart from the obvious (bin the contraption, start again) anyone have any suggestions to ease my suffering?
Ooh, if you are interested, the firmware version I installed was s38.
