Hi everyone! I was SO impressed with Flavia's Argentinian dancing last year, so was really pleased to see that she's featuring in Series 4. But, not very happy with the fact that she's been teamed up with old Tarby!! Of course, it's too early to predict anything but, looking at the line-up, it's fairly unlikely that Tarby will make it to anywhere near the Final which means that Flavia may be one of the first out and I was hoping she'd be around for a good stretch so that we could see more of her dancing. Anyone else agree?

Yeah I agree, I like Flavia met her and Vincent in Blackpool in June they taught us Argentine Tango was fantastic. But I dont think she will go far

I'm taught by Vincent and Flavia and they're also two of my best friends and so I too was gutted she's been given a partner who is so unsuited to her. She's a beautiful person both in looks and personality and the most fantastic dancer, not just Argentine Tango (she does that for fun) but ballroom, latin and show dance too and I was really hoping she'd stay in a long time.
I know she's struggling with Jimmy Tarbuck but stranger things have happened than someone like him staying in quite a while.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that the public warms to them as a couple and we get to see more of them.
Though if she goes out early I get my teacher back in time for me to train for Blackpool in Jan!!!

I know, Lillia or Erin should have had Jimmy, instead they've got sporty people. Sucks big time I say!

I completely agree. Flavia is really upset about her partnering, she doesn't really know where to go with it. She's such an insecure person who (ridiculously) thinks she isn't attractive so I was really hoping to see her with some dashing sportsman to make her feel better.
She's a sweetheart though so if anyone is going to make him a better dancer its her - Go Flavia!!!

Ahhh she sounds lovely, can't wait to get to know her better through the show. I am so gutted for her really.

She's a doll, she's the most beautiful person I know inside and out. I think people will really grow to love her through this show despite having Tarbuck in tow!!

just had a look at some of her pictures on dancesport website. She reminds me of Sophia Loren (when she was young).

I was so excited when I heard that Vincent and Flavia were going to be on Strictly, as they seemed lovely in their interview on the last series and their dancing on Strictly Dance Fever was amazing. I'm gutted that she hasn't been given a better partner, but hopefully Vincent will do well with Louisa. How are they getting on? I'm going to support them both as well as the Jordan's as I really want the new dancers to do well and I hope we're going to get the chance to get to know them. I'm a big Cutler fan as well though so I may struggle with divided loyalties in the first few shows!

Vincent and Flavia seem to have quite a lot of support around the forums - you'll just have to keep on telling her that!!

I certainly will tell her! They are wonderful people and their dancing is something else. I'm so lucky to count them as my friends as well as teachers.
Vincent hasn't started training as Louisa is away will till the 2nd October!! They had one day before she went away and he said things were looking great, she refused to stop for any breaks and just wanted to keep on working at everything till it was right!
Flavia has been in Portugal teaching Tarbuck and things were not going well initially but I think they're progressing a bit more now. I really had hoped for a better partner for her - she wants to go out in week 1 so she doesnt have to do it anymore and I'm determined that wont happen. I want her to enjoy it so she does another series after this. Lots and Lots of voting - I think I'll put my work phone on redial to her and Tarbucks number!

When the show starts and people start chatting even more about the couples, you'll have to print out and show Flavia all the messages of support I'm sure she'll get on here and the other forum!

Oh no no no, I don't want her to want to go out, damn the BBC for putting her with Jimmy. I am so angry, but I mustn't go on. I just hope he trys hard for her.

He is trying really hard apparantly. I'm angry too - I nearly cried in my lesson on Tuesday - mean mean BBC. Though if she stays in a few weeks that will go to show just how amazing she is!
I intend to print our every lovely comment and send her a big good luck card with them all in.

Lovely. I hope she likes it! Tell her we can't wait to see her every saturday night, rather than just snipetts here and there!

what you all forget is that sadly this show is not judged on dancing, but on personality. Hence you may find Flavia (who I think is a fab professional) will be around a few weeks cos Jimmy will get the public vote - look at Bill and Karen - he was awful and stayed along time

oh and Sporty does not always mean they have dance ability

I agree bendymixer - Tarby will be good fun to watch!
It does always seem to be the less well known celebs who go out first -perhaps that will change this year if somones dancing ability knocks our socks off!
Remember wee Dennis last year? He was great value for money wasnt he?

And who knows? we are all assuming Tarby cant dance (well.............he probably cant) but he may surprise us!
Good luck to him, and Flavia!
What lady do you all think will be voted out first?

I have to ask, does Flavia mind you making comments like this? Bit demoralising for Tarby to read if he happened upon it, and a statement that she's expressed her upset about her pairing doesn't present a very professional attitude.

She's not upset because she wants someone better just that she doesn't have the confidence to be the stronger one in the partnership. She never goes far from home and certainly never on her own, she's bound to be finding it stressful in Portugal. And as for her not being professional about it I'm not even going to answer that. Tarby will know what a wonderful supportive person she is he's working with her and I very much doubt he'll be on here when he's got dancing to think about.
She doesn't really know who he is and had no idea till it was pointed out to her that he is a very well known and popular personality.
Perhaps I'll just say nothing more then noone can think I'm meaning something I'm not

Read my post again: I didn't suggest that she herself was behaving unprofessional in her conduct, the point I was making is that alleged comments about her feelings about her partner which are posted on an internet forum are not great for anyone's professional reputation. How would it have looked if Darren was "reported" to have said something similar about Gloria last year? Wouldn't have made him look great, would it?

There's no need at all to be so defensive. The question I asked was whether Flavia is entirely happy that comments made to one individual in a dance class are posted on the internet. Its a question of consent. I'd hate it if it were things I'd said that were being put up on a forum. If she's given her explicit consent, fine.

I'm sorry if I misinterpretted your comments and if anything I said appeared to be inappropriate. I was only trying to justify my comments and if that seemed defensive again I am sorry.
I will stick to comments on personal opinion then noone's reputation can be compromised even accidentally. Thank you for pointing this out.

Hope you didn't think i was having a go, I find all your "insider knowledge" of Vincent and Flavia really interesting. I just worry that taken out of context things can be interpreted many ways. Your last post explains the context in which the comment was made, so its much clearer.

Anyway, I think Tarby will be very entertaining in the great tradition of Diamuid, Quentin and Dennis!

Don't worry I'm glad you said it! I love them both to bits and would hate to do anything that compromised them at all so I'll keep my mouth a little more shut from now on (though probably not much its quite big!).
I think without a doubt Tarby will be a great entertainer, he'll make people laugh and that will keep him in longer than perhaps his dancing!
I think anything that gets said on these forums is at risk of being misinterpreted so I'll be a little more careful - Im really new to all this so need keeping in check!!
