Choice of VOIP system?
Hi
We are an office of about 30 odd people in London, with corporate headquarters in Africa. HQ is currently implementing a Cisco Call Manager Express VOIP solution. We'd like to do the same to cut down on phone bills between the two locations, which you can imagine are pretty high. Our network is a Cisco 2501 router (ISP managed) - Cisco PIX 506e Firewall - 4 x 3COM 4228G (manageable) switches We have a Samsung digitial phone system at the moment. I'm hoping we can just purchase a VOIP card that will fit into the Samsung switch, as we don't want to purchase an entire new phone system. However, is it recommended we go for Cisco Express as well due to compatibility issues, or would any system such as Avaya work. Also, if we were to go with Cisco Express, is it recommended to upgrade our switches to Cisco ones? The ones we have at the moment are capable of QoS. Many tia. |
