I own a Zen Micro which I believe has now come off the market. I am planning to buy some speakers currently torn between buying a bog standard pair of £20 ones from curries or going for ones made my creative. The Creative TravelDock Zen Micro is now around £50 and the Creative TravelDock 900 is £25.

So my question is does anyone own either of these and would have any advsie on which to choose. Also does anyone know if either of them can be plugged into a normal socket wall as well as using batteries?

Thanks for any help

Any powered (or active) speaker set will do, you just need a 3.5mm jack to whatever fits into the line-in socket on the speakers. Some sets come with a 3.5mm jack lead anyway.

The 3.5mm jack goes into the headphone socket. This should work for every mp3 player.

Note that XDAs and whatnot need a special plug, because they have a thinner socket and a 3rd pole for the microphone, so a 3.5mm plug won't fit.

No need to limit yourself to those flimsy looking traveldock things, for that price you can get a nice pair of portable speakers, like the £20 Logitech's.
