yes you can play mp3s while recording one or two programs. Just tried it.

Mp3 facility as standard isn't brillant, i.e it's just play and stop. No RW, FF, or bookmark.

You can't even pause an MP3. Personally I find the MP3 playback too limited to be useful. Sound quality is pretty good, though. If you can live with the limitations, there's a rather nice MP3 jukebox TAP, with playlists, album art etc.

klunk, i tend to just let albums play, so don't need features. though as u mentioned looks like the juke box tap allows various features if needed
