440 Update Disabled But...
ByTheCringe

At least twice a day, at 10.00 and 14.00, my 440 , which is powered off, shows "UPDATE" and there is some activity for a while. I have automatic updates disabled.

Is there a software update schedule for this machine?

How do I stop it looking for it?

Is that the box updating the freeview epg ? I use Guide+ myself, and the box wakes up three (?) times a day showing EPG on its display.

If you can live without any epg then you can switch it over to Guide+ but just provide a blank postcode. It will no longer wake up periodically.

Ah, that's a possibility. I am using the electronic (Freeview) EPG, and I have no idea how it is grabbed. The Humax just loads it over a period when it's turned on, so nothing happens in Standby. So if the 440 is waking up to grab it, that sounds more likely that a a software update. Thanks!
