After all these threads about Aussie shows I thought I'd see what everyone thought about All Saints!

I recently bought the first volume of episodes and today watched the first, and I loved it!

I have been a fan of other Aussie shows - Neighbours, Home and Away, Kath and Kim and Mcleods for donkeys ages so I thought i'd try it!

The first episode combined both drama and humour and had a real warmth to it, i'm looking forward to watching more episodes!

I think next i'll try Blue Heelers as Vinegar Vera has been enjoying the DVD's!
Anyone got any thoughts on the show, or bought it blind like me and hoped they liked it, is that what you did with Blue Hellers, Vera?

I watched one random episode in Australia in 2002.

I have been considering getting a taste of All Saints on DVD. Maybe. 42 episodes (a season) would usually cost about £32. I may get them before Xmas.

I like Blue Heelers alot though and the DVDs are good value.

The first season was brought out in volumes too so you can get just the first 8 for £10 off ebay or whatever which is great to try the show! Thats what I did! All Saints isn't defunct by the way, it's still on se7en in Oz!

And a question, is John Holmes the producer of every drama on se7en? Like Keith Richardson at Yorkshire TV!

John Holmes is the Executive Producer of many of Seven Sydney's in-house (their own) shows.

Home and Away and Headland and All Saints are made by 7 without anything to do with Grundy's ( NEightbours) or Southern Star (Blue Heelers, Forensic Investigators, Big Brother and loads of other Aussie productions).

Just acoincidence with this show and Home and Away thats all.

In the 1980s Seevn had Grundy make most of their soaps sch as Sons and Daughters. They had JNP make A Country Practice for them.

Didn't Channel Five used to show this around about 1997/1998 time? maybe one of the new channels they are launching might consider it.

Series 1 to 3 are out on DVD. Although they have recently stopped (or are releasing them slower) with All Saints and with Blue Heelers (series 1-6)

This has been on in Ireland (TV3) for a few years now. When it was first on it was shown 5 days a week and as I was er.."in between jobs" I was able to watch it most days...I was hooked! It's changed a lot since then, but it's still quite watchable.

I used to love watching All Saints. It was much better when it was on a general ward, in the last couple of years they have moved to an Emergency Room type situation and personally I think that style of show has been done to death with ER and Casualty etc (Having said that I LOVE Casualty!!)

The show is still well acted and well produced but it's not half as good as it was when Terri and Mitch were the centre of the show cause at that stage, in my opinion, it was a "must see" programme here on TV3 In Ireland.

Love the Mitch/Terri and Bron/Ben years. Like deisegirl, I got into All Saints when I was between jobs and it was on every day but now they only show it on Friday evenings. Still good but not as good as a few years back. Though i can't help but admire Vincent and Jack. That episode when there was a radiation leak and a patient "crashed" while in the decontamination unit and they burst out with Jack in tiny black boxers straddling the person and doing CPR. Ya don't get that in Casualty!!
