Just got back from Florida and having a hire car meant we had the delights of american hip hop and RnB radio stations.

Firstly they play the same tunes over and over and over again. It is worse than listening to Radio 1. However that said i just thought i would give the big tunes that they are playing over there at the moment as no doubt Jo Whiley will be jumping on the bandwagon and playing them all soon anyway.

Jibbs - Chain Hang Low. When this tune is released over here, if it is then im sure it will be huge as it is just one of those tunes that everyone seems to play. The guy singing it is apparently 15 years old.

Janet Jackson and Nelly. Not my cup of tea but it was played constantly over there.

Rick Ross - Push It. Dont know anything about the guy but again one of those tunes that will be big if it released here.

Chris Brown - Say Goodbye. By far the biggest thing over in the States right now. Turn on the TV there he is, drive down the road there is his poster, put on the radio there he is again. Massive over there.

Akon and Snoop Dogg - I Wanna F~~K U. Obviously going to be a hit.

Sean Paul, Beyonce, Mary J Blige all had new tunes being played constantly also.

Hi there! Well, I'm glad you got to come visit the US and hear what garbage- I mean "music"- they play on our radio stations. Didn't you enjoy hearing the booming bass, the mumble-mouth rappers talking filthy, and every other lyric being a four-letter word?

Seriously though, I love UK music because you guys play ALL TYPES OF MUSIC. That's why I don't even listen to the radio anymore- it's all rap/R&B shyt. Consider yourself lucky.

I will be honest, we could only find 2 channels. Both were RnB and Hip Hop and both played the same 10 tunes constantly throughout the day. Then after 9pm it turned into a free style station and the "rappers" hurled abuse at each other.

Not my idea of good radio but it kept us busy on the way to the theme parks!!

Believe me, when you've heard one US radio station, you've heard them all.

Yeah The Fray and Panic! At The Disco are Big where I'm at.

All American Radio isn't just Rap and R&B.

It depends on what part of the country you're in. Where I am in Texas we have mostly Country and Spanish stations, among others.

I listen to the "New Rock" Station 94.5 The Buzz. If you wanna listen to it here you go:

94.5 The Buzz
