The CFA verson was for comic relief which i think is a biannual thing - which would tie in with next year?

The Maria school idea they have just run with was basically FA in format without seeing the interesting lessons or aftershow stuff.

OOOH! OOOH! Please say that's true! I love FA! I thought it was axed for good but FA is a classy version of the X-factor style shows I always thought!

Cool, I presume this is CFA rather than normal FA, but either one will do for me

I love the idea of Fame Academy ... but I also think Carrie Grant ruins the show with her obvious bias

I cannot stand that woman now ....

To be fair though she is damned good at what she does. She developed songs with Alex in FA2 wheras David tended to teach Alistair note by note. She taught Edith how to sing Bridge over Troubled Water for the CFA2 final after she had struggled earlier in the week on the difficult part with David - two tips and it was there. If you watched her work up Imagine with Alex or Champagne Supernova with Edith its very impressive.

The contrast is with the people they get in to do X factor and "How do we...Maria" - you had/have good singers there who don't seem to have been encouraged or helped to personalise their set songs at all with very few cases of either new ground being worked or people's full potential reached.

If they had any sense at all they would start "normal" Fame Academy IMMEDIATELY after the celeb version finishes in order to maintain the momentum in ratings

Having Seen Justin Lee Collins on Saturday Kitchen doing a Tom Jones impression, the man can sing! Please ask him onto the show if it is CFA!

^ TV Plus had an article up today saying that he had to turn a spot down on the new Fame Academy due to him not being able to sing.

Guess it is a celebrity one

wicked, i love both versions of this show. such a shame nothing came of either winners, to this day i believe Alex Parks has more to offer than any other british female artist around. I'm sure if the winners were successful we would have been graced with many'a series of this insightful show.

..But the comic relief version makes me just as happy.

I adore FA and CFA.

I even had a radio 1 support edith poster in my car! (she was ssooo great)

I find FA to be so much better than x factor, don't know why ITV has the monopoly on singing shows.

It encourages them to write songs and put a unique twist on them rather than churning out some westlife-a-like ballad!

I believe it would do better now as bands and singer songwriters both male and female are really in at the moment (natasha bedingfield corinne bailey rae, paulo nutini, james blunt etc!

I don't think the world was ready for it two years ago we were still in the polished rnb pop phase!

oh i was excited when i saw this thread but its a shame to see it must be a celebrity fa, i do like it but much preferred the normal fa. Still think about how much ainsley and malachi made me laugh and still listen to the cd from that series.

Does anyone have info about when this is going to start, or who might be featuring for example?

I loved Ruby Wax on this, lol! She was good fun!

Yes, you are right! Celebrity Fame Academy is back for its 3rd series in March for Comic Relief and I think it is going to end on Friday, RND (Red Nose Day). I am so excited. But I wish there would do the original idea though. It was much exciting, especially when we had vote 13 out of 25 to put into the house!! These are the celebs I would put in:

Justine Lee-Collins
Javine Hylton
Ricky Gervais
Trisha Goddard
Louis Theroux
Vanessa Feltz
Syed Ahmed
Ruth Badger
Jonathan Ross
Daniella Westbrooke
Simon Webb
Germaine Greer

I hope they have the final the day before RND and have only the results held over to RND. The final last time was a mess as they only had the vote lines open for a couple of minutes after the perfoemances.

Simon and Javine are already singers though, isn't the whole point that the celebs aren't known as singers?
My predictions are the actress who plays Jane in Eastenders, and the actress from Holby whose name escapes me. She used to be in Brookside for a short time. Memory is gone blanK!

I would love Justin Lee Collins to be in this show, his singing voice is really funny and his personality would shine in the house, he'd be perfect for this show
