Creative Zen's and Macs & a Applecare transfer question

Hi i would appreciate a bit of advice here. I own a iPod Mini i was going to give that to my mother and then upgrade but she is not ready for one yet so i decided to sell it and get something else. I have looked at the Creative Zen Vision: M 30GB in green model but i would like to know how they would work with a Mac. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...910253?ie=UTF8
This MP'3 player is in the colour of my choice and it also has a lot of features that interest me. It also has a good storage capacity as well. I also feel that i would like something a bit different now. I am really quite tempted by this model. Should i go for it?

I have thought about getting a green iPod Nano and i have not ruled them out yet either. Some larger capacity coloured Nanos would have been very welcome though.

I do own my own set of speakers that would play my music the majority of the time at home. Sometimes though i would like maybe to use iTunes if i could or at least plug my MP'3 player in and play it on my Mac.
Has anybody ever used a Creative Zen with a Mac or do they know anything about it and maybe some possible hacks? Any info is appreciated.

Another unrelated question i have Applecare and I am going to transfer it over to the person who buys my Mini. If so can i do this online or do i have to contact Apple support?
Thanks

They don't work with Macs as such. The software they use is windows only, whilst you may be able to drag and drop files (not sure) there will be no real integration other than that. You can get various bits of software to get them to work with itunes but they are hacks at best. You'll also likely have real problems with updating things like firmware on the actual device.

Thank you for your advice moisie.
I own a MacBook Pro and i do have XP installed on that as well. I don't use XP that much though and i wouldn't like to use it for my main music use but i would be able to update the firmware through XP on my Mac.
I like the look of the iPod videos as well with all what they can do maybe i should consider getting one and maybe getting a case for one in the colour of my choice.

IMHO a Mac and iPod go hand in hand too well to consider another brand of MP3 player - the integration with iTunes and iSync is like nothing else you'll get (at least that I've found).
