Robbie Williams - Lovelight
Anyone heard it?
Got it on promo....well the album anyway. Apparently his next single, it sounds a hell of a lot better than Rudebox. Seems there is more effort put into this one, it's a change in direction for him thats for sure, I think this is probably a concept album more than a change in direction. Doubt he will stay on this line of music for long, when he said a dance record I was hoping for something a long the lines of commericial pop type stuff like Rock DJ. Lovelight is good, similar in certain respects to Radio, he hasn't strayed too far but he can't do falsetto as he tries on this. Nice effort Rob.....but no catchy chorus as we are used to....trying to be the next marvin gaye I think..... 2/5 |

Has anyone heard the original by Lewis Taylor? I think Robbie has done a terrific cover.

I don't like it. It sounds like he's making the song up as he goes along.

It's pretty much a carbon copy of the Lewis Taylor original. I've been a fan of Mr Taylor since 1996, and it's about time he got some recognition - if only for Robbie covering his song!
