Have you selected RGB in the Topfield menu; are you using an RGB enabled Scart; and is the Scart on the TV one that accepts RGB.

Are you saying that those 5 channels are worse than the digital only channels.

Having read your post again there may be some confusion here. Are you watching the 5 channels through the Topfield or through the LCDs own analogue tuner.

Hi, I wanted to use the TVs tuner to watch them, but it seems there is interference on them...Mark

Mark; any particular reason you want to do that; are they OK through the Topfield. If they are why not watch them that way?

If i am recording two others on the toppyyou only get a limited no of others you can watch. i thought this would give an extra option,

Mark; fair enough but I would recommnd use those occassions when there are two things you want to record to watch a previous recording. To be honest I cannot keep up with recordings. I have loads of episodes of The Shield and CSI to catch up with not to mention numerous films and documentaries.
I have not even bothered to connect my TV to an aerial since I first got a Hard Disk recorder over 3 years ago.
I almost never watch anything live; you can pause when you want and skip the ads so why bother with live TV.

However back to your problem if you do want to use the TVs analogue tuner how have you got it connected? through the Toppy or are you using a splitter of some kind?

Have you checked all the coaxial connections are good.

i have got it connected from the toppy to the tv...Would a splitter be better?

Mark: It might be better to use a splitter if you have one lying around. The manual suggests this. To be honest I was hoping you would give up on analogue as this is not something I use and my knowledge is limited.
You might want to post on

in the new users forum perhaps for more expert advice.

TBH passive (unpowered plastic Y-type) splitters are not good for digital TV since they reduce the output signal and are usually unshielded. The normal way to connect the aerial to the TV using the Toppy is to use the pass-through RF Out connection.

The connection methods are described much better in the rewritten updated manual http://www.toppy.org.uk/documents/58...nual_Rev.4.pdf (Forget the printed one!). Remember to make sure that RF Loop 2 Out also connects to RF In.

There may be some slight degradation of signal but it shouldn't make any difference in most cases.
If you are in a fringe reception area for digital TV, then instead of the pass-through connection you might need an active (powered) distribution amplifier to connect separately to the Toppy and TV.

If you are seeing interference when connected via the Toppy then the next step is to temporarily connect the aerial lead to the TV directly. If no interference is seen then there is the possibility of the Toppy's analogue output channel might be interfering with your local transmitter's broadcast analogue channels.

To cure this, use the Toppy's System Setting to change the RF output channel to a low or high value e.g. 21 or 69.

Glad to hear it. Did you try changing the RF output channel?
