Any Sick Of Hearing About The Scissor Sisters??
That all I've bloody heard about as past few weeks, and that horrible song "Don't feel like dancin" has to be my most hated song on the radio at the min, And just to annoy me even more, I tuned into the Pete Tongs Essential Selection as usual on Friday night and they where presenting that, I mean what the hell do they know about underground dance music, next they'll have Britney Spears presenting it next time she's in the UK

No no no no no. I'm so not sick of them, they're genius. Sorry, I must disagree on this instance.

They sound exactly the same live as they do on CD.
Anyone else find that a let down? If I go to a concert I want an 'experience'. Not tinnitus. |

Totally agree, can't get enough of them!!! Do sympathise with you OP though, I know what its like when there is a band you just cannot stand & they are just everywhere! A few years back Westlife seemed to be everywhere I looked! I think you notice it more when its someone you dont like!!! |

All day Friday they took over Radio 1 and it gets a little tedious listening to their constant we are amazing stories. They have had a number 1 and now they are the best band around, i think not!! |

Wasn't it the most bought album in 2004?
Scissor Sisters have been getting a lot of praise since they hit the UK. It's nothing new, just that they've now got their first number 1 single. Sorry, but I love them. Genius!

Yet ain't it funny that they are not even remotely popular in their native country- the US (I can understand), they are annoying and their songs are even more annoying. Shows how poor the musical tastes of this country are when they sold the same amount of copies of their debut as Keane did in 2004, and they score a no.1 in 2006.

I think they're over-rated too - and I'm well sick of hearing them/hearing about them - I don't hate them, but I soon will!
They're not a patch on Muse - but get 10 times more hype! Americans always get the hype - it's about time the UK supported it's own more. |

Personally I can't stand their act or their music but there is a huge demographic out there that love this stuff.

![]() ![]() I'm laughing because I can't believe that somebody has been feeling exactly the same as I have. Especially over the last couple of weeks. I was thinking about starting exactly the same sort of thread that you have here. It's just that I'm wondering why everyone in the media seems to be going on about them all the time. Enough about them, I'm sick of it. Scissor Sisters just irritate the hell out of me to be honest. I'm just sick to death of hearing them mentioned on just about every other TV show. I don't know what 's so good about them. They dress up in costumes, how hilarious and madcap, and make music that I find very average. I almost feel guilty for not jumping on the bandwagon, because you feel almost obliged to, and if you don't then you're not a 'fun' person. Overated and irritating beyond belief. The last week has been especially bad, with presenters talking about Scissor Sisters on so many shows. The television is often on in the background, and every now and again I hear some TV presenter going on about Scissor Sisters, and It's got to the stage where my ears automatically pick up on it and it irritates me. I'm glad that somebody started this thread, as it's about time somebody did. I've had it up to my back teeth with TV shows going on and on about them all the time, when frankly I've heard much better. They just pop up everwhere on TV. It often feels like everybody is supposed to like them for some reason. It's almost an obligation. I share your pain daveyboywales. I just wish they would go away now.

The thing I don't like is that they're much more of a 'product' than anything else. I know most popular bands also are, but the Scissor Sisters really take it to the next level. I predict there will be a backlash against them due to too much of the hard sell. Especially when the tunes aren't as good as the singles from the first album.

I thought or rather hoped they'd be a 1 album novelty act who would fade away quietly, Sadly they seem more popular than ever and for some reason still get played on XFM a supposed alternative music station.

Completely sick and tired of the song - we have the radio on at work and they seem to play it every hour!!! Or whenever you put MTV or any music channel on the video is always on! When they over play a song regardless of whether it is good or not it makes me hate the song.

It's very easy for record companies to get a number one in the UK since downloads were included. Doesn't necessarily mean individuals are buying the downloads if you see what I mean. A group with a powerful record company behind them can buy their way there.
