New tv delivered yesterday .. noticed last night that when its on standby there is a double clicking noise (sounds like a relay) approx every minute.

Is this a fault, or is it meant to do it ?

Have a look over on Avforums there are several threads regarding this issue, they refer to the s2010 but it's apparently the same TV but a different colour.

It's a common problem and, from what I can gather, there isn't a fix for it yet.

Personally if I'd spent just over a grand on a TV and it was doing this I'd get it replaced

Phoned Sony center and the "engineer" will be coming to look / listen next week (either on Tuesday or Thursday)

I explained to the very nice man on the end of the phone, that I am now aware that Sony know about this issue and wish to reject the tv and expect a non clicking one as a replacement.

More news as soon as anything happens.

The 'engineer' came today... with a new tv

He wasn't very intrested in discussing the issue, so I didnt push the matter or try to impart all that I had learnt so far about the problem.

Ho hum
