Re-releases Ahoy

Is it me or is there a strangely high number of records coming out over the next month which have already been released once this year? I was looking at Radio 1's playlist today and there are re-releases for Bedouin Soundclash (presumably because it's now been used in an advert), Panic! At The Disco and Hot Chip, all tunes which came out earlier this year.

It worries me a bit - When an act re-releases a track rather than put out something else from the album, it suggests that the rest of the album isn't much cop. I was planning on buying Hot Chip when I got some spare cash (I nearly got it last week but the Guillemots won in a tense face-off), but now I've got a nagging feeling that 'Over and Over' is going to be the only good track.

Any thoughts?

It happens all the time. The track gains more publicity so it's re-released. More promotion for the band as a whole that way. In fact, it happens with albums too. Re-release albums are pretty common; new artwork, slight change in tracks etc...
